There's an emerging technology in the advertising and marketing world, and it's changing the face of downtown Austin as you know it … but only for 90 seconds at a time.

Drive-bys on crowded streets, tagging buildings, cruising the strip, looking for people to blast on, getting respect and raising street credit.

This may sound like your favorite album from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, but it’s a just another day in the life of the team at ATX Projections, a technology company founded here in Austin.

Although they do all the things we’ve just mentioned, with their tech and marketing backgrounds, these things aren’t nearly as dangerous as they sound. There are no guns, no spray paint, no gang signs and no violence, and the only street credit they care about is that of their clients.

And yet, here they are at the helm of a new technology that could effectively change the face of digital signage.

In a society overrun by social media and Internet marketing, true differentiation is nearly impossible, because in the end, everyone has a website, everyone has a Facebook account and with the same tools available to everybody, you’re just another fish in the sea.

To truly stand out, you have to do something your competitors are not.

“The concept is modest enough: Our team wanted to create the most unique and versatile marketing platform since the invention of the billboard,” says Beau Curtis, founder of ATX Projections. “We wanted to structure our unique projection packages to be easily integrated into our customers’ existing campaigns.

“To that end, we’ve partnered with Web design groups, graphic artists, broadcast media producers, publication experts and social media teams to make this technology fully compatible and easily implemented into our customers’ marketing and advertising strategies.”

Unique

ATX Projections has developed a brand-new tool for these purposes, and is currently the only company offering this product line. It has scouted downtown Austin and found more than 150 buildings in highly visible areas that fit the requirements for a mobile projection location.

The projection vehicles travel from location to location and spend, on average, 90 seconds at each. Using high-powered digital projectors, they display dynamic content (either video or still images) in high-def resolution onto the sides of buildings. They’ve got this down to a science.

Through a formula of lens ratios, throw distances and surface dimensions, ATX Projections can custom-fit a projection onto any specified location.

Versatile

Depending on the location, these images range in size from 10” wide to 200” wide. Because the projectors are mounted in vehicles, the customer is not limited to a single location, but instead can generate awareness in more than 50 highly populated locations in a single night.

Projection customers choose a number of credits to purchase and then select their locations and time slots. Once these have been chosen, the customers upload the content directly to the ATX Projections website, and the team takes it from there.

Powerful

Gone are the constraints of the traditional highway billboard. Besides, who really remembers what a billboard says, anyway? With this new projection system, ATX Projections can create an advertisement as small as a single letter or as large as the structure projected upon.

ATX Projections has the ability blast an advertisement to thousands of your targeted customers using a unique, one-of-a-kind method.

Whether you are trying to reach a specific customer or have the need to project a digital work of art designed for thrill and awe, ATX Projections has the ability to truly differentiate your brand.

Hi-def projections on buildings and structures, big and small? What’s next, the moon? Maybe, but that’s another conversation.

Don’t get passed by the digital projection wave. ATX Projections … you’ll see them everywhere.
