NSIDE Publications is pleased to welcome Tracy Ganske, R.N., MSNED, PhDc, and CEO and clinic director of Balanced Hormones and Health (BH2) Restorative Wellness Center, as a regular columnist and medical advisory board director for NSIDE Austin magazine.
Beginning with the January/February 2012 issue, Ganske will tackle hot topics in the medical industry for both men and women, and will shed light on many “under-discussed” topics readers will appreciate learning about.
As a clinician and entrepreneur, Ganske comes to her current position as CEO and clinic director of BH2 honestly. After having her second child, she sought out a clinic that claimed to specialize in women’s wellness and natural hormone replacement. Little did she know, the clinic was a medical scam, and the person prescribing was not a medical professional.
Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in today’s marketplace. Part of Ganske’s focus within NSIDE Austin magazine will be guidance on how to navigate the medical maze.
Soon after receiving treatment, Ganske developed serious heart problems, and was very close to receiving a pacemaker at the ripe old age of 36. It was then that she and her doctors realized the heart issues were being caused by the medication prescribed by the wellness clinic and immediately ceased treatment.
In addition, the medication prescribed by the non-physician destroyed Ganske’s thyroid – a condition she is now forced to treat for the rest of her life. This very damaging experience ignited a fire inside Ganske with a commitment to help other women find a safe place to receive hormonal imbalance treatment.
Today, she and her husband, Greg (chief financial officer), have built a multi-million-dollar business and provide a safe and reputable place for patients struggling with a variety of imbalances to receive treatment.
With offices currently in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and San Francisco, 2012 will feature offices in Houston and Nashville, as well as a collaboration with a highly reputable, franchised, weight-loss organization to bring a more comprehensive medical approach to weight loss through the use of hormone therapy and functional medicine.
Ganske also serves as the wellness director for the AQUA Nicaragua Yoga & Wellness Retreat and Eco Vacation Resort in Tola, Nicaragua, where she combines her clinical knowledge with her collaborative approach to balance and well-being.
The key to her success is partnering with exceptional clinicians, as well as a collaborative and comprehensive approach to wellness, including the benefits of nutrition, functional medicine and integrative health that ultimately may help the patient with balance.
Although her practice focuses on hormonal balance issues for patients, she and her staff are deeply integrated in the Austin medical community and truly believe in referring clients to top-tier professionals in the area whom they trust.
Given her negative experience in the past, Ganske is very careful to only align herself and her business with medical professionals she knows and trusts. This is something she takes to heart and values deeply, and that speaks volumes for her clients.
Her regular columns will focus on educating the reader about wellness issues effecting both men and women, as well as how to navigate the medical maze, avoid scams and find the right solutions affordably and effectively.
She will talk with other medical professionals in the area and shed light on issues, both personal and professional, that are often avoided or ignored because they are awkward or difficult to discuss openly.
“We’re thrilled to have Tracy as a main contributor to our publication,” says Eliot Garza, publisher of NSIDE Publications. “Her breadth of knowledge and experience, as well as personal approach to providing wellness solutions, is so refreshing. We’re confident our readers will find her columns compelling and educational, and look forward to their response.”
