Perhaps a less understood aspect of the business, however, is the applicationof helicopter flights to commercial real estate and businessplanning. The busy developer often has little opportunity to fully scoutthe many properties available. By utilizing the helicopter service, theycan replace a 5–day scouting mission with a 1–hour adventure. Additionally, the helicopter can be utilized to track construction progresson a large scale.
Among the attributes of Alamo Helicopters are the impeccablycharming owners, Stacy and Randy Riggs. A full service operation, Alamooffers Stacy’s professional stylistic and photographic talents to eachof their clients. Currently, Alamo holds a contract in which Stacy takesupdate pictures of a new highway development, documenting the project’sprogress. This type of aerial photography can be extremely beneficialfor prospecting, as well as gathering visual support for investment.
Passengers will fly under the capable wings of Stacy and Randy Riggs, both of whom have extensive experience in helicopter tours. Stacyworked with Randy in Tennessee, where they had their initial helicoptertour business. Looking to break out on their own, the Riggs’ packed upand moved to San Antonio to offer their services to our fair city.
Randy, a real veteran of the skies, has flown helicopters for manyyears in many capacities. Randy began flying in high school, earning hishelicopter license in 1974. Since then, he has flown missions for sightseeing, corporate travel, firefighting and medical transportation. Afterflying in countless models of helicopters over the years, the Riggs’ havechosen a Robinson R44, with a range of 400 miles, which is more thanenough to accommodate the distinguishing tourist or businessman.
So what does the future hold for Alamo Helicopters? With the holidayscreeping up, Stacy and Randy have plans for some fun holidaytours, dazzling riders with an aerial view of the city’s gorgeous Yule–tidelights.
They are also awaiting their air taxi license from the FAA , whichwould allow Alamo to provide short–range taxi services at unparalleledspeeds. Additionally, these chopper experts are willing to help customersshop for their own helicopter, as well as broker the sale.
Constantly growing, Alamo Helicopters is also working on establishingits own flight school. Under the current paradigm of helicopterpilots, most students are taught by those not long out of school themselves.Randy hopes to offer students the training and direction thatonly a seasoned, real–world pilot could provide.
Alamo Helicopters is growing by the day, and will soon have a strongticketing presence in the downtown area. A novel concept in San Antonio, the affable and capable Alamo Helicopters is sure to carve theirniche of aeronautical escape.
