Dr. M. Reza Mizani is the current chief of the division of Nephrology at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa City Centre Hospital, San Antonio. He volunteers in the teaching of Nephrology fellows, residents and interns at the Texas Diabetic Institute / University Health System.
Dr. Mizani completed his medical degree at INTEC University School of Medicine in Dominican Republic with Magna Cum Laude honors. He completed his internal medicine training at St. Mary's and Park Ridge Hospitals affiliated with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY. He received his nephrology training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), and Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Airforce Base. He served as a chief nephrology fellow at the UTHSCSA.
Born in Tehran and raised in the Dominican Republic from childhood, Dr. Mizani speaks fluent Englis, Persian (Farsi) and Spanish. He understands the hardships of the community and would like to make a contribution to the quality of care of patients with hypertension, kidney disease, diabetes, and renal transplant.
Dr. Mizani is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is Adjunct Assistant Professor at UT Health Science Center, Founder of South Texas Renal Clinics. Special intrests include Dialysis care, Calcium Phosphorus Control and ICU nephrology.
He is credentialized with most health insurance companies and major hospitals in San Antonio.
