Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. David Castro is a man committed to providing exceptional medical care to the youth of his community, by fostering health and social well–being. Since 2002, Dr. Castro has provided pediatric care at the South Alamo Medical Group and has been an active staff pediatrician with privileges at al San Antonio hospital systems.

He has been caring for patients in the SOuthside and Downtown areas for the past nine years. Dr. Castro has partnered with Dr. Aracely Ferrer to form their new pediatric clinic called "Caring for Kids". Caring for Kids Pediatrics, PA is set to open this Fall. "I am very excited about returning to the downtown area to practice pediatrics," says Dr. Castro. The new clinic will utilize cutting edge technology in the form of advanced electronic medical records, as well as many other state of the art diagnostic tools. Both doctors hope to continue to serve Sa Antonio families for many years to come.

Dr. Castro attended Central Catholic High School (class of 1988) before going to UT Austin for his undergraduate degree. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School.

Outside of the office, he is an active member of the music ministry in his parish and has been for the past 14 years. "I advocate sports, health, and exercise in today's youth and am an active coach in the Christian Youth Organization," says Dr. Castro.
