The 10th Annual Don Harris Charity Golf Classic, which benefitsFamily Service Association, was a tremendous success. The tournamenttook place at the Quarry Golf Course with more than 200 playersand over 40 volunteers participating. The funds raised go directly towardshelping families in need.
Established in 1903, Family Service Association is the oldest non–profithuman service agency in San Antonio that is dedicated to helping youth,children, families and seniors.

Last year nearly 50,000 individuals were assisted by Family Servicewith counseling, parenting education to at–risk parents and their babies,healthy relationship skills classes for couples that yearned for a better wayof life, in–home care for seniors to help maintain their independence andmuch more. Approximately 43% of the 50,000 reported an annual incomeof less than $5,000 and another 40% had incomes of less than $15,000.

The proceeds from our tournamentare just a drop in the bucket but every dollar helps so that they cancontinue to help the less fortunate, abused, and elderly” said Don Harris,Sports Anchor and Sports Director for WOAI–TV, Channel 4.
